Nearly a decade as a Research Associate in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Sheffield, working across the full stack: full-wave simulation, antenna and RF design, PCB layout, embedded firmware, FPGA integration and physical prototyping.
My research covered electromagnetic scattering surfaces, both active and passive, frequency-selective surfaces and metasurfaces, and RF propagation in difficult environments — inside a Rolls-Royce Trent 900 aero engine, and in maritime conditions. In both cases high-fidelity simulation was validated against measured data.
Throughout that time I worked with industrial and government partners including QinetiQ, BAE Systems, DSTL and Rolls-Royce, which gave me academic rigour paired with real industry constraints.
In 2024 I completed my Ph.D. in metasurfaces and frequency-selective surfaces at the Czech Technical University in Prague, and moved into independent consultancy.
